Providence Independence

Providence Independence was conceived as a distinctive independent living community that responds to both the lifestyle expectations of active seniors and the placemaking goals of a growing mixed-use environment in Wildwood. Located less than a mile from Brownwood Paddock Square, the three-story, 173-unit community was designed to complement the town center’s western-themed identity while providing a more residential and hospitality-driven senior living experience. Its massing is organized around a prominent central entry and multi-story residential wings, creating a welcoming front door and a clear sense of community arrival.

Architecturally, the building uses heavy timber trusses, rustic stone piers, warm yellow and red-toned siding, and decorative gable detailing to establish a memorable regional character with durable materials and strong curb appeal. The amenity program supports the independent living model through a broad mix of spaces for dining, recreation, wellness, and social connection, including a fitness center, salon, billiards, crafts, theater, chapel, saloon/café, and a separate connected restaurant. For developers, the project demonstrates how themed architecture, a strong amenity package, and proximity to entertainment and services can work together to create a differentiated independent living product with broad resident appeal.
